The inspiration for my lithographs, Lines of Flight, came from comparing the 'line of flight' of the kite line and and the way butterflies weave and dip through the air. There are also obvious comparisons of colour, light, shape and beauty. I like to observe things which are capable of exemplifying and illuminating some of the attitudes, ideas and moods which are important to me and are capable of transporting me - like kites in the sky and butterflies in the breeze.
